The recent AP article run in the Japan Times on 10/1/2010 states, “The Japanese Embassy said in a statement that Japan is sympathetic to the plight of children caught in custody battles between Japanese and American citizens and ‘is continuing to make sincere efforts to deal with this issue from the standpoint that the welfare of the child should be of the utmost importance.‘” US House of Representatives H. Over 3,200 US citizens, children living in Japan with an American (USA) parent, are being denied access to one of their parents. This based on 16 years, 1992 – 2007, of Japanese Government statistics. It is estimated that at least 96,247 children with one non-Japanese parent are being denied access to one of their parents. This is a global issue being perpetrated against children, with blood connections to nations around the world. H. Res 1326, demanding Japan reunite abducted children with their parents, will be debated on the House Floor tomorrow (9/28) in the U.S. between 2 and 3 PM for 40 minutes and televised on C-Span. Today the United States Congress is Addressing Child Abduction to Japan

Right now (2:30 am Japan time May 6th) Congressman Moran and Congressman Smith are unveiling a resolution concerning Child Abduction to Japan. Several parents and family members will speak at this meeting and talk about their cases, struggles, and lack of access to their child(ren). The meeting will take place in front of the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. According to these 2 Congressmen 121 children are being held in Japan.
