Over 3,200 US citizens, children living in Japan with an American (USA) parent, are being denied access to one of their parents. This based on 16 years, 1992 – 2007, of Japanese Government statistics. It is estimated that at least 96,247 children with one non-Japanese parent are being denied access to one of their parents. This is a global issue being perpetrated against children, with blood connections to nations around the world. US Congress to Vote Demanding Japan

H. Res 1326, demanding Japan reunite abducted children with their parents, will be debated on the House Floor tomorrow (9/28) in the U.S. between 2 and 3 PM for 40 minutes and televised on C-Span. Parents Discuss Abduction Issue with U.S.

On April 9th a group of 15 parents and a few grandparents met with high level officials about international child abduction and lack of access to their children in Japan. Kurt Campbell(Assistant Secretary for East Asian and Pacific Affairs), Janice Jacobs(Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Consular Affairs, Michelle Bond(Deputy Assistant Secretary for Overseas Citizen Services), lawyers from the Department of Justice, and others discussed several things with these parents.
